Re: Lancair ES - Steam Gauges to Dynon
More work done this weekend. Happy with the progress this far. Cut the panel and mocked the screens and autopilot head. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240506/201fef4dd4bac0bde2c6856513c947c4.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240506/7f7ba0a15ee74d1d38545e186a5ae697.jpg https://uploads.tapata...

Re: Lancair ES - Steam Gauges to Dynon
Making progress, albeit slower than I want. Got the Tosten grip’s mounted as well as the ACM, ADAHRS, pitot/static lines, ACM harness, as well as new servos and associated wiring harness. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240427/91649fbd1f841ee7add37111ba31a383.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/...

Re: Performance Numbers for Super ES
James, 15" MAP to slow down from enroute cruise speed, 22"/2400 rpm to cruise around 140 KIAS, which is easy to slow to the white arc, but not so slow that it sucks going around the radar pattern. Holding: 15-17" - I shoot for just above the white arc. Precision app: 11-12". Shou...

Gordon, that's a great looking ES. If you're not totally set on selling, I know us LOBO ES instructors would love to get you comfortable and proficient. Just let us know. A full list is on the lanairowners.com website.

Re: Friedel Wingtips on a IV-P
Unless I see wind-tunnel testing, or aerodynamic modeling simulation data, I don't support tying a wingtip mod to lower insurance. Without hard data, it simply is marketing. LOBO is happy to look at the engineering data and results. Otherwise, "caveat imperator."

Re: ES Performance differences with Hartzell and MT props?
Tom, that sucks. I also am not impressed with MT's durability. The prop runs very smooth (3 blade) on my IO-550, but with only 450 hours and always being hangared, the prop looks pretty weathered. The rubber boots are dry rotting and the leading edge metal has lots of small pitting (nothing outside ...

Re: Lancair ES - Steam Gauges to Dynon
My Tosten stick grips today. I'm very excited to ditch the bicycle grip basic stick for these. I decided to go with Tosten over the Infinity grips because they are a little smaller, their customer service is outstanding and they were easy to customize. They're going in tomorrow. https://uploads.tapa...

Re: Lancair ES - Steam Gauges to Dynon
Today is ripping out old Wheelan wiring and replacing with shielded 4 way wiring for the new LED position/strobe lights. The Wheelan setup always had noise through the headsets, so I'm hoping the new wiring and LED lights do the trick. The old wiring has dedicated strobe wiring and additional positi...

Re: Lancair ES - Steam Gauges to Dynon
Thanks Jorge, I'll make sure I am careful with the tubing. Center stack is built and ready to go. I'll need to trim the angle alum prior to bolting to the panel. Here are a few pics. The Com2 radio and XPNDR are mounted on the bottom stack. PXL_20231120_172518416.resize.jpg PXL_20231120_172550029.jpg
