TKS Fluid Tank on IV / IVP / IVPT

I am not sure which sub-forum topic this would be most appropriate, so I will post here and provide a link back to here under the IV/IVP/IVPT sub forum as well. I recently had a request for information and pictures on my TKS fluid tank reservoir for my deice system from Jeff Edison. I spent some tim...

Re: What Propjet guys play with while rebuilding their plane

Tom, how fast you think that engine will push the bike?? It will do 80 MPH. I won't ride it over 20 MPH!! The builder got it to 60 MPH and the front tire started vibrating and it scared the crap out of him!! Kevlar liner under the seat in case the turbine fails :ugeek: Yaa, it's still not complete....

What Propjet guys play with while rebuilding their plane

A new toy I just couldn't resist. I'm kind of pushing the "aircraft content" intent of this forum, but, it IS A JET ENGINE!

The young guy laughing at the end of the video is the 6 year old son of one of my good friends who LOVES anything aviation!!

Re: Rear spar cover box

I have had the best luck using a strong gasket scraper. Get the leading edge tapped in all around the gasket /flange surface and work it slowly until it starts separating. With enough patience, you can get them off without damaging them. I installed access covers over the spar bolts (with gaskets) s...

Re: Swinging the gear

An added note of safety I perform to the first retraction. I never use hydraulic pressure to swing mine the first time. After ensuring 10" between the mains and the floor, I use a pry bar through the gear door and manually pop the safety pin (circuit breaker pulled, gear lever in the raise posi...
