My seats won’t slide far enough aft.

Hi All,
My seats won’t slide far enough aft. I lose almost half of the space created by the door because the seat is right in the middle of the opening. This makes getting in and out of the airplane very difficult. When I fly it, I only move it two clicks forward of full aft. No human could possibly fit in the seat in the full forward position.
I can’t find any markings on the seat assembly to indicate manufacturer or part number.
Is it possible to find rails that would allow the seat to travel further aft?
Thank You!

So what most people do is add seat rail extensions and mount the the seats further aft. This is accomplished by adding a reinforced area.

Dave, I sent you a PM as well:
Hi Dave. If you give me your e-mail address I can send you the chapter from the ES manual that describes what George recommended.
I can't seem to attach the PDF file directly to the forum.

The mounts are shown in these pics but you don’t see the slide blocks attached to them yet. Only the front blocks are mounted.

Dave,
Remember that George has an ES, so he has the ability to just reposition the front mount. You don't, thus my suggestion to weld the extensions onto the front of your seat tracks. But in his pictures you can see the aft supports that extend out from his structure. In your case, you will have to modify/extend these in a similar manner.

I made up a set of extensions out of steel when I first completed my IVPT that set the seat back several more inches from the already shown extension on the spar box cover. Once the plane was painted and interior was done, I made a set out of Carbon Fiber that took off 4 pounds from the steel ones. They made access into the plane very easy!
I could get pictures of the seat rails if needed.

How many bid were those extensions Tom. Plus that removes magnetism from the cockpit

The Carbon Fiber ones were 12 bid, and vacuum bagged. I will try to get a picture of both the temporary steel ones and the CF ones.

Top picture is the temporary steel ones.
Lower pictures are the 12 bid CF ones. I gained 3” of aft adjustment with these. You normally only need them back this far for boarding but with no rear seat passengers, this feature is nice for stretching your legs out too on long flights!!
