Shiny Spinner?thoughts

I just had my hub caps chromed, and they look great. This got me thinking about chrome plating my spinner. Years ago the knock on chromed spinners was they cracked, but yes, they sure do look better, (no matter how well you polish them). I'm wondering if this was just accepted knowledge, like never operate a recipe "Over Square" or "Lean of Peak", (both now debunked)?
Anybody have first hand experience with a chromed spinner? This is on a IV-PT, wondering if the speed and temperatures would be a factor. Chrome shop only has experience with chrome at highway speeds and "normal" temps.
Any input appreciated.

Rock,

Aluminum polished spinners are faily common. Not sure about chrome plated. I have the aluminum polished spinner on my turbine. If I remember correctly they were originally painted and I took them to a professional to remove the paint and then polish. You should also then have the prop balanced.

Good luck,
