The aluminum back-plates on L235/320/360's have a long history of cracking.
The long-term solution is composites. After a friend's back-plate cracked I had a production compression mold made.
Back-plates are initially cured during 150 psi compression. I use a high temperature epoxy that is cured at 350F. This prevents any creep in the material and loss of bolt tension. Standard is the Hartzell hub bolt pattern and hub cut-out. Other patterns can be provided.
The spinners are blank and have two reinforcing pads in the area of the blade cut-outs. I can provide cut-out patterns for the 7068-2 and the composite 7054 blades.
Spinner: $275
Back=plate $325

A plot to geek out on.
I just cured another batch of back-plates. Below is the cure cycle. Being high temp epoxy is a rough life.
