The Kevlar Lancair 235

One Lancair 235 was built with Kevlar/Nomex prepreg instead of the usual fiberglass. It was done by Hal Loken with some sponsorship from DuPont. I had not heard anything about this aircraft for many years, but in 2025 it has re-surfaced in Spain after many years in Brazil. See the Kitplanes article from February 1990.

That's really neat, never heard of it. Besides burning through expensive carbide drills I wonder how much sandpaper he went through!
