ES flyers and others who have Thermawing/ThermX deice protection, do you know the speed penalty? Also, if you have any comments on the merits, I'd be interested. Not hunting for ice for sure, and I realize it's not FIKI, but it could be a of stress reliever on days where holes/options apparent in planning disappear.

Dan, I'm curious about this too. In a Mooney Ovation/Bravo, the speed penalty for the TKS FIKI system is 5 kts. I'd imagine it's probably in the 5-10 kt range, but I'm sure someone knows for sure.
