I currently have ACS control cables for the Throttle, Mixture, and Prop. The cable travel is 3-3/8”.

I am looking to go with McFarlane custom cables. Their travel is 3” or they have another length that has more travel.

? Has anyone measured the movement of the throttle body, prop governor, or FCU (mixture) to see what the travel distance is from stop to stop?

I suspect that 3” is more than enough but I can’t confirm since my engine is out for overhaul.

Thanks for the help.

George,

Measured these tonight.
- Throttle has the most throw - 2 3/8"
- Prop Gov - 2"
- Mixture - 2 1/8"

So the McFarlane 3" throw would give you an extra 5/8" of throw for adjustment for the throttle, more for the others.

My set up is very standard.
IO 550N19B, Idle, rpm, prop and fuel flow - all have been set up for correct values.

Hope this helps - Drew

Thank you Drew!!!

I will finalize my order! I decided to go with McFarlane as it seemed like they had better controls that were smoother and they have a veneer control knob for the throttle which I’m interested to try that out
