Flow from NC to Texas yesterday. Saw 194-195 TAS for a bunch of the trip.

We avoided all the bad weather after we got past RDU.

Okay Jorge, what's your secret? Isn't that like a 4-5 knot gain??

Electronic mags which allow me to run 30° to 50° rich of peak keeping my cylinder temps between 370°-390°. My prop RPM is usually 2500-2600 RPM.

I'm curious what, if any benefit I'd see running electronic magnetos on my TSIO-520. The challenge I have with my engine is that I can either run full rich or 50 degrees LOP when under 75% power. Nothing in between. The CHTs start to climb when I run 100-125 degrees ROP I usually see about 200ktas running 30.5 / 2400 on 14gph. If I want to go up high and put the coals to the fire I see 220ktas running 32.5/2400 and 26.5gph. I have no problems running LOP between 8,000 and 12,500ft, but at 17,500ft the engine feels like it surges running LOP. This is where I'm curious about emags, since I could advance the timing. Thoughts?

200ktas LOP
220ktas full rich

I would reach out to Brad Dement at E mags and see what kind of data they have on turbo charged engines running Emags. I don’t know if they can run ROP with Emags.
